Izaya knew he should be rushing inside a nearby building or at least attempt to get back to his apartment by now. The sirens went off in a decent warning, but he disregarded the alarm for now. Izaya was far too occupied with the new edition to Sirens Port, to the point he didn't even feel compelled to worry about his own safety. There is no oddity about his acts, as he had little fear to the monsters who roamed the streets of this city, but he certainly had a few concerns regarding the one he is currently tracking.

Izaya was very light on his feet, that is no secret. So, stalking Shizuo during their conversation was an easy task, but he knew he was running short on time, and he thought he should come out and greet his old friend right about now. Of course, Izaya wouldn't be approaching anyone without a motive, and while he enjoyed harassing Shizuo just to get a good laugh out of it, this time--he actually had something on mind ( ... )

While that siren was doing a good job of distracting him, Shizuo still had his thoughts partly on all the people he'd spoken to. Some had been helpful while others had just pissed him off, but in the end he'd learned enough to get by. Or so he'd thought. But one of the last people who'd contacted him had made him strangely suspicious, giving him this feeling under his skin that something wasn't right.

And when it turned out that the person was both watching him and apparently knew him, that made matters even worse. Shizuo started to get a sinking feeling that he knew what was going on, but just the thought that that flea could have access to his phone was enough to make him sick ( ... )

" Ah, on the contrary--I have been here six months before you. So, technically, you're the one who followed me! Just saying. " Izaya explained with a playful wiggle of his index finger, not quite intimidated with Shizuo's hostility toward him. It was part of their little cat and mouse game. It was expected, yes.

While Shizuo had the potential of being the most predictable person on earth, he would always break the routine in the least expected moment and-- really, that pissed Izaya more than anything.

" You know, Shizu-chan. I do actually miss Ikebukuro. You were lucky enough to have a few months back home before returning to this city. " With that said, he shoved his hands inside his pockets and averted his attention to the horizon, noting how the darkness was fast approaching. Smiling back at Shizuo, he showed no intention of fighting him. Not now, anyway. He hoped someone else would take the glory of crushing him ( ... )

Six months? Shizuo kept walking even as he chewed that over. Then what he'd heard about time was right. If Izaya had been gone for that long he would have noticed. Of course, the flea could just be lying, so there was that option as well. He glared at him as he drew closer. "If you're ever where I am, it means you followed me," he stated with complete seriousness. The issue clearly wasn't up for debate as far as he was concerned ( ... )
