This is awesome! I'll ditto everything Laura_M said.

Also, if you want to expand this 'verse, I'd love to read it. :D

This is beautiful: sensual in the full meaning of it, and gritty as it should be. Laura's "ally awkwardness" is perfectly on-key and really captures the member of the privileged class making those first forays into advocacy. I love that she gets it without a ton on prompting. And it's such a great point about even the uber-Sagittaron organizer could have blind spots about women's roles here.

Very intense, intriguing Tom :-) His stagecraft reminds me of RIchard Hatch's in a good way, the ability to take over and manage a stage so everyone is heard. Awesome gift fic!

I feel like so much of this were things that I could have comfortably plucked from my Advocacy and Organizing 101 Training course at union, so I love the realism and believability you’ve captured here (and I can particularly tell that you have a lot of first-hand experience in this form of work from some of your posts) - especially in terms of the difference between being “of” a group and advocating as an “ally” of a group. The dialogue was pitched really well, and the pacing also fit the characters conversing her as I felt off-balance quite a few times. :D

I’m also really interested in the AU you’ve essentially written here where maybe this is where Laura turns and chooses to channel her grief rather than Caprican politics… *now wants to know more about this universe and what happens*
