Last week was my long-awaited vacation, which was a trip to the Antioch Writer's Workshop in Yellow Springs, OH (yes, home of Dave Chappelle.) So no Dave sighting (he was in the hospital, I guess), but oh, what a workshop.

bouncing around a mosh pit, holding up Harp and each other, screaming the lyrics of "Dirty Old Town," sweaty and exuberant, hugging each other tight.

Me, too.Singing along to Dirty old Town with a swell of other disorderlies is always a favorite.

I highly recommend it for those who haven't tried it.

Afterwards, I asked Ted Leo where he'd hid all the black people. He laughed uproariously and asked me to help recruit for the next time.

Thank you for such a wonderful night and wonderful tribute. I'm crying at my desk and I vowed long ago never to cry at work but I'm doing it. We love you and I will be with you in Antioch next year.
