Dunno why but I think this is the best Spike moment ever.

Hmmm...

You know, I thought a lot about what else Joss could do to shock us again. After space-frak our pain barrier upped considerably :)

Vampire!Buffy is one of the most shocking developments and one of the most obvious ones. Given the number of "bitey" Spuffy fics, and given the fact that diehard fans are always ahead of the canon, it's quite a possibility.

But I'm not sure that Joss is interested in going there, thematically. I think a lot depends on s9 stories.

I just think it would be very hard to come up with justification of such a plot twist. I can't imapine Spike siring Buffy only to save her from death, because he *sob* can't live without her. It would be too fanfic-y. But I can imagine a plot similar to the story about The Beast and Angelus on AtS s4; something about the necessity of having a vampire!Buffy to save the world. And it could be a fascinating story.

This possibility goes out of the window as long as siring someone produces a zompire.

Severin will learn to vomit back the demons he sucked in. Or maybe Andrew will build a disposable device to pour Spike's demon into Buffy's body. Or maybe Willow will find a way to break through the interdimensional wall and grab the first demon at hand. Or maybe Dawn will sacrifice herself to connect Earth to a demon realm through her keyness.

It's Jossverse. Possibilities are endless. :)

What about her soul? Siring Buffy will cost her her soul.

Joss wil find a way. Basically, all the explanations in Jossverse boil down to "because I say so", so I don't think there will be problems with the soul.

Although, the best case scenario would be having a soulless Buffy for a couple of issues (so that she could tell the others everything she *really* thinks about them, a-la Angelus in Soulless) and then ensoul her and make thouroughly horrified by Buffius behavoir.

You know I was talking to a greek friend of mine, we talk about the show in a greek forum, about where the Spuffy story could go on. After rejecting all the possibilities that had to do with deja-vu either with Buffy-Spike or Buffy-Angel, only 2 options remained. Having a relationship finally, or continue the "lust-passion-undeclared loved-unresolved issues-want you out of my life-can't live without you" thing that those 2 have had since day one they met. She is not a Spuffy, but what she said was "ok, good one, but we're getting bored of that, finally, get those 2 in a relationship so they can move on or break them up once and for all, this is not yet, but very soon become ridiculous ( ... )

I don't know what will happen but I know the way Joss structures his stories. "Lust-passion-etc" won't be on the table simply because it was already explored in season 6.

If Joss still has some serious ideas regarding Spuffy, I expect something utterlty heartbreaking. Simon's idea about siring is very probable.

But if Joss ran out of ideas for Spuffy, then nothing will happen, and Spike will stay her loyal friend.

Now with Buffy getting sired. I don't think that Spike would ever do that to Buffy no matter what the cost. That is something Angel would do and not Spike, so I don't see the story getting towards that way.Joss will find a way, if he would like to go there. "Only the vampire!Buffy can do this-and- ( ... )

Look, if they hadn't made it clear in AtS that getting sired by a vampire with a soul will only result a soulless vampire, and if they hadn't made it clear that the seed is broken so no more magic in the world, maybe I would agree that the story can go that way, "Buffy the vampire vampire slayer". Right now, I really don't see how things can go that way without finding something very stupid to justify it or retconning many things.

We'll see. Maybe it's because I always expect the worst outcome when I watch/read a Joss show. Tell me that there is a lot of great stuff in Buffy and Spike's future, and I'll reply: "What's the catch?" :)

Buffy already has the essence of a demon inside her. So I doubt she would become a zompire.
