So either depression is rearing it's ugly head again, or I'm just having a sad mood day. Either way, I really don't have the time or inclination to deal with this shit. Obviously ranting at the interwebs via LJ will help this. Or not. Either way, class is awaitin' and I should grab something edible before heading out. -
Music geeking that few others care about
I've decided that Sonata Artica's music should be listened to at full blast. Why? Because Tony Kakko actually puts in some beautiful harmonies with himself in a majority of their songs that you can't necessiarily tell at sane volumes, since they keytar occasionall drowns it out ( Read more... ) -

On a completely random note, I will say one thing positive about singers who don't have a great voice. It doesn't really deteriorate with age:). Sorry, been listening to Mark Knopfler, and while I do very much enjoy his music, it's not so much for his lovely trained voice....

So music is slowly taking over my life. I'm getting back into the habit of practicing violin everyday, and actually practicing. Not just going over a few songs until I get bored and then stop, but actually trying to polish the pieces I already can limp my way through and learn new songs. Summer
So after this weekend, sprit season for paddling is all over. Don't have to come back to PG for practice, or drive around at ungodly hours of the morning to get to races. So as July comes to a close, I get some free time, right ( Read more... ) -
Hawaii
On a random note, I'm going to Hawaii for a week and a bit, so if anyone wants something from the Islands, let me know in the next few days -

Got in an outrigger canoe for the first time in a little under a year yesterday. Made a few observations-- The water is still too darn cold
- I've apparently gotten...curvier...and the foot and a half wide boat (possibly a bit more, possibly a bit less. I was eyeballing) is a bit snug around the hips, at least more so than before.

Thoughts from this morning
Saw on Facebook a picture of a highschool friend. Brain went- "Why are you growing out a beard? You're an adorable little hobbit! It just makes you look ol.... oh, that's why". Suppose not everyone wants to look 12 for the rest of their lives. -
Sonata Arctica
Got back from the concert, and am currently sleepy with a really sore neck, legs, and shoulders (hmmm, can't imagine why those would be hurting after a metal concert...)
Just scribbling down what songs I remember them playing while I still can.
