How fucking depressing. I wonder if there are people who still think we are "winning". What exactly are we "winning" at this point? Hearts and minds?

I think a point of no return has been crossed.

That old chestnut which roughly says, "There are no winners or losers in war - only survivors" is pretty much true. It's a crying shame, though. :?

Maybe it is because I'm a new father, but the stories I've heard the last few days are heart breaking to me. Children? Infants and toddlers?

Maybe I just don't have the stomach for war, maybe I just don't understand... but deep down, if this is what it all boils down to, I'm glad I don't. I think I'd feel a little less human if I didn't feel the way I do now...

It's possible, though it's entirely more likely that you have a greater respect for human life than those currently calling the shots.

I have a Great Big Rant on this whole Iraqi skirmish, but I generally don't like to talk politics because I feel my blood pressure boil every time I think about it. But, I'll sum it up for you - pissing contest, lining the pockets of oil tycoons, slaughter of innocents (on both "sides"), world policing, needs to stop NOW. :(
