Twilight, by Stephenie MeyerThis book was an impulse buy. I read a lot of Young Adult fiction, I always have. Sometimes it's old favorites that comfort me-- books that I read over and over again with a mug of hot tea, curled under the blankets. "Vampire High" by Douglas Rees. It'll wash the taste out.

Oh YES! Vampire High is the coolest book ever (too bad the cover's so ugly). And if it doesn't completely work, Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber should take care of the residue.

To wash out the 'taste' of a bad vampire novel, Ann M. Martin or Chelsea Quinn Yarbro?

I actually really liked this book, although some of what you said was very plausible. Point A being the pacing, which I thought was strange as well. It reminded me of the sixth HP book--most of it crept by realllly slowly, then the plot attacked you all at once ( ... )
