I'm trying to do a dozen things at once today. Watch my head spin! Spin, maechi's head, spin! Anyways, all the news that's fit to post (so far, at least). :D

Entertainment Weekly has a Freaks & Geeks 'then & now' photo gallery. I think that most of us know where all the stars are now, but it's still worth a look for the sentimental factor. (Look at theRead more... )

Dollhouse doesn't strike me as too original to handle, but perhaps its all in the execution. The "people becoming others for an episode" is pretty standard, see Quantum Leap, various Trek episodes, etc.

I think that it might have to do with the execution. The implications of forcing a person to be a clean slate over & over while someone pulls their puppet strings; I don't think we've seen something like that on weekly tv. And if Joss doesn't do it well, the premise could definitely get pretty damn sketchy.

Quantum Leap does have some similarities, but I think the main difference is that while Sam played at being all those people & righted wrongs, he was still Sam at his core. The Dollhouse Actives are 'all those people' but their inner selves have been wiped clean; though the show's premise does involve Eliza Dushku's Echo 'waking up' bit by bit.
