Have you read the book of the Last Unicorn? it's so lovely.

I haven't! I've read a few other Beagles - A Fine and Private Place and The Folk of the Air at least, but I think the cartoon broke my brain and I never actually picked up the book. All that stuff about the transience of life, geez. Good thing I never was exposed to the Watership Down cartoon, apparently that traumatized a big chunk of kids as well. (That book, I did read.)
