flowering trees may just be my favourite thing ever

Yesterday, I decided to head to High Park to see the cherry blossoms before they were gone. One, how lame am I that I had no idea High Park even had cherry blossoms? Two, looking at pictures of cherry blossoms, I don't think I saw any! I went to the right area. Did I somehow miss them cause wouldn't that be just my luck

Wow, those are awesome pics! They look soooo professional!

And yes, those soldiers were on a training exercise, they apparently had to carry like 1000 pounds in those bags and walk forever or something!

Ahhhh, that makes sense. And yeah, they definitely had to walk for a long distance cause I saw a couple of the guys stop quickly to stretch out their legs.

Pretty! I love those dark pink flowering trees, though I don't know what they are. All the pinks are my favorite.

I've been obsessively google imaging, and the darker ones maybe redbud? The lighter one's petal shapes don't look too much like pink dogwood, but maybe close. I wish we had spring like that here.

The cherry blossoms were at their peak just over a week ago, so I think you missed them, unfortunately.

I knew I missed the peak but I was hoping to catch the last hurrah, so to speak. I don't think I saw the trees at all cause wouldn't there be massive amounts of petals on the ground?

Beautiful pics!! I'm enjoying the flowering trees as well. Do you know what kind of tree that is in the pictures below the cardinal? I've seen them around Rockford and have not been able to identify them yet.

I don't know what kind of tree it is and I would love to know as well! I've been googling for trees in High Park but all I can find is info on the cherry trees!
