The way is longer than I thought

Summary: Returning one Miss Pollard to the TARDIS

Diva had gotten accustomed to tuning the (wo)man out. It had been against her own wishes to take them back to her estate and take care of them, but Diva had gotten a new way of dealing with problems that didn't involve hurting, killing, or maiming whatever the source of the problem was. She just simply thought of what Sam might do. Or, in some cases, she just thought about how Sam might react if she told him, and that would be more than enough. In any case, considering what the best thing to do in that situation only made her think that she should do like other people upon the Plane and take care of them after all.
Now, she kind of wished she had taken the TARDIS's advice and left her to wander.
Still, Diva walked briskly through the streets of the suburban New York town towards what she would consider the marketplace. It was a large square, where, on Sundays there would be booths and carts set up to sell produce and other goods. It was the closest thing to a marketplace that she knew. That was really one of the things that had died out in the modern world, she had realized. But Diva just held the powder-blue scarf up a bit tighter as the person whose hand she held babbled on irritatingly, demanding for Diva to listen. She hoped that maybe if the scarf covered her ears as well, it might be able to block out some of their words.
Once the pair came to the square, Diva lowered the scarf just a bit as she looked around for the TARDIS. Today, it was snowing quite heavily. It wasn't that Diva minded the snow (she preferred the cold to the warm anyways) but it was more along the lines that she had left without telling her Chevalier where she was going. They would certainly wonder where she had gone, and even if she disliked the TARDIS, she wouldn't want to inflict an irritated or angry James upon her.
