December gathering

Nov 20, 2009 09:35

Okay local peoples, we need to start getting organised if we want to plan a gathering of some sort for December. Instead of leaving things to chance, I'm going to specifically book an evening off for this. Obviously, since I work in retail, it's going to have to be earlier in the month rather than later. My best suggestion is December 4th. That's 2 ( Read more... )

gatherings, friends, movies

Perhaps we could eat out, then see the film at your place, possibly? Or would that be too much activity for one night?

The fourth works well for me... It will be a delight to see you all again.

How about we go to Coasters?

That would be a very cool idea and definitely not too much activity for one night. Will just have to see if Andy is working the next morning. If so, movie here is out. He goes to bed very early and gets up before 4.

Coasters is always a treat!

I should be available, and if you want, I can offer my house either for movie night or for both movie night and dinner. My kitchen is huge, so I have more than enoguh space for everyone! And if we do a pot luck, the cleaning should be minimal and the prep virtually non existant :)

If we decide to go dine out, I'm all for it too.

Excellent, it wouldn't be the same without you! I'm hoping for dinner out, but if Andy is working the next morning we may well take you up on the offer of having somewhere to watch the movie!

The professor has suggested Coasters on the Market for dinner. We'll see what everyone else thinks.

Just let me know and we'll figure things out! I saw wolfraven80 today and mentioned the gathering to her. I'm sure she'll pop over soon.

The 4th works for me! I don't know if I have ever been to Coasters but as long as they are not seafood only it is fine. Can't wait to see everyone!

Ok I just look at the Coasters menu and it is a little expensive for me, especially considering I am unemployed. Would somewhere else be ok? Or I can always meet up with you guys after the meal.

Hmmm well what about Carmello's? It's a nice little Italian place on Sparks street near Kent and most of the dinner plates are in the 10-13 dollar range.

The fourth should be fine with me. As for the Half Baked Plot film... Hmm...

I've been to Carmello's a few time and the food is great!

If not, potluck at my place is always an option and could be very inexpensive, obviously! The express bus stops very near my house and is available at rush hour, and to get back I can most certainly drop you off at Les Promenades (from which you can go straight to the Rideau Centre) or we can figure something out...

And LOL at Half Baked Plot :P

I've been to Carmello's, too, and it would fit the bill nicely.

Definitely LOL at Half Baked Plot. I'm very interested in Erika's take on the movie, as I'm sure she'll find it abysmal. :D
