Help me out

Feb 19, 2009 12:19

A while back lots of lovely friends posted tips on dealing with ear problems when flying. I can't seem to locate all this wonderful information, so I'm asking anyone who helped out with tips to post them here. I'd rather not arrive in San Antonio after hours of painful flying, even if I did tell amandageist that it would be easily cured by aspirin and good ( Read more... )

Um... Chew gum? (Yeah, that's all I got.)

I hope you get all better and enjoy the firewater out of your trip! :)

Hee, that's the only one I know, too. :)

Will enjoy the trip come hell or high water. Will see Kelley for sure, even if we have to show up on her doorstep and drag her out. May see a few other HPFGU-ers as well, if plans come together.

Looking forward to some serious consumption of chicken-fried steak. Apparently a completely unknown item here in the frozen north. People look at me like I'm crazy when I describe it. Yet they eat french fries with cheese curds and gravy on it here and think that's perfectly normal. Go figure. :D

Mmmmm, chicken-fried steak... (also known as country-fried steak, depending on the region, I've learned) it is delicious. :)

I'm not really sure what cheese curds are. I'm picturing cottage cheese, and I have to say? Not a pleasant picture. (So, please tell me I'm horribly mistaken?)

Chicken-fried steak is an addiction of mine. Seriously, could eat it everyday when I'm somewhere that actually has it. I really wish it would catch on here so that I wouldn't have to wait and only eat it on vacation. I've made some poor attempts at making it at home but haven't quite got it right.

Cheese curds are really just blobs of fresh cheese, before it's aged into something tastier. I found a good link explaining it that even includes a description of the dish I mentioned (called poutine). http://www.thenibble.com/reviews/main/cheese/cheese2/rogue-curds.asp

Excellent, new ideas for me to try. I never used to have problems flying, being an Air Force brat and all. The trouble all came after ear surgery. *sigh* :)
