I've just gotten home from Books of Wonder!
It was such fun seeing you in person. I read VANISHED a while ago and really enjoyed it. It's great to combine a mystery with interesting things from a different culture. I also loved seeing both versions of the book's jacket art. The first one was good. But the second one was perfect.
Hope your school/store/library visits all go well.

Barbara - seeing you was one of the highlights of my evening! Thank you so much for making it out there. Ever since I knew you were from around here, I was hoping I might get to see you one day...and now I did!

Thank you for reading Vanished -- I'm glad you got to see the before and after covers. I think they are so interesting, and say so much about the process of cover design.

I hope we see other again, too. Only one of the photos I took came out. One was blurred, and in the other your eyes were closed. I posted the good one on my blog. It's not great, but I think it's OK.
