Thanks for posting. I'm a reader over at the Yahoo group where you posted the link.

This is very good and I enjoyed reading it. I especially like the end -- everything from "Barbara knows that he doesn't see her as a woman--most of the time she doesn't either."

I like your analogy of the two dimensional molds and the reason for your title, those rare moments when Lynley might just see her as she is.

Have you thought about posting this on the Inspector Lynley fanfic groups at Yahoo? There are two groups -- one for L/H friendly and one for others. The groups are ILM_PunchAndJudyShow (for L/H) and indevineproportion. Both are Yahoo US groups (not UK).

Just learnt about the Lynley Groups. I liked this story. It's nice without being mushy.
