Once Upon a Time, season 2 finale review. Now, with pictures! Ooooooooo....

May 30, 2013 19:36

Remarkably, the finale started to remind me of things that made me fall in love with this show in the first place. I've been positively giddy and it's a thrill! Yes, dammit, I did just watch it the day before this challenge was due! I just haven't been able to find any energy to get fired up to watch the Tivo and 'Second Star on the Right' didn't ( Read more... )

I don't like DeRavin either.. the only thing that makes RumBelle the least bit tolerable (and that's not much) is Robert. Loved Leroy/Grumpy putting his hatred for Rumple aside for Belle. Greg and Tamara = Team Rocket? LOL good one!

I do NOT get teh Swan/Queen thing...

Once again, Henry is the key.

the mystery of just who the hell is pulling the strings is enough to look forward to the S3. but oh the confusion... FTL of time past, FTL of present, Storybrooke, and now Neverland... and the possibility of London again? or Neverland past...? and other realms?

Sad that Meghan was not able to film more.. Loved that they were going to develop 'frankenwolf'

SwaQueen is about opposites attract and the chemistry that the actresses once had. Dunno if they'll get it back, since this was the first time they'd interacted since Emma came back from the Enchanted Forest! And they make magic together! C'mon!

Yeah, it does seem to keep coming back to Henry.

I couldn't say why, but the time and location jumps have never confused me. Can't explain it. *grins*

They are IDIOTS to have pissed away Meghan's talents and presence for so much of the stupid schlock they piled on this season. I feel that same way about bringing Cora back. Such a magnificently complicated character and talented actress, reduced to a comic book villain. (Except for that final death scene, but that's a different story)

re: Meghan She got a series pilot which now has been picked up. Hopefully the schedule will at least be able to accommidate an appearance or two by Red/Ruby.

As for Cora, I think they blew it when they brought her back too soon. This season felt rushed... more like light speed as opposed to sonic.

I think it would have been better if S2 was more of a character building.. and introducing more FTL past like Cora, Hook and the Crocodile.. establishing more of characters pasts... Bae, Pinocchio/August, Neal, Emma/Neal.. along with SB present Mulan, Aurora, Phillip, Lancelot and perhaps more peeps there... Cora should not have followed Snow/Emma so quickly. they should have given her more time to stew in her anger of being so close..

I'm totally jazzed for Meghan, but Once was still idiotic to waste her the bulk of her (and too many others) in season 2.

Yeah, Cora ended up being a bad afterthought and still irks the hell out of me. Can you imagine if they'd played it out as her skulking about, sabotaging things and generally causing 'boogie man' fear? It would have been delicious!

Oh, the lack of character building was such a joke! And Lancelot and Robin Hood are perfect examples of the 'too damn many characters' that plagued S2 so badly.

There are some shows that need to browse their own fanfic. Seriously. I'm just sayin'...

So from this I'm guessing my accidental-decision to only watch the last two episodes of season two wasn't that bad of a move after all.

Not a bad move at all! The second to last episode was an odd one after all the horrid eps before it, because, it wasn't a BAD ep, it was just boooooooring. That said, it did set up the finale, so it was worth it for that. And it was such a relief to see everybody perk up from the stupor of this season and really get into the acting and story and emotion!

I actually watched the second to last, after I'd watched the last, simply because I wanted to find out what had been done to Regina. Watched that way, it wasn't too bad, but I did fast forward through a number of non-Regina scenes, so that could explain it.

Y'know I really need to watch the last few episodes and now I really REALLY want to, if it's inspired you again a little. Great review by the way. Have I mentioned lately that I miss you :)
