Yay John to the rescue at last! Somehow I don't think it's going to be a quick fix for Dean as he's now so ensnared in Father's web. It's so creepy when Father speaks through his followers and now he's using Dean, ew! By the way I love your Fab Four chapter headings, really fit well.
Yeah, Dean's journey back will be somewhat bumpy...but hey, he's been in Father's clutches for quite a while.
Aww! You're the first reader to notice and mention the chapter titles. Hee! Well, my beta reader JPGR did, too...but then she explained the meaning behind her LJ account name: J. P. G. R. ...and then it made sense that she would notice! LOL.
Poor Fairy....hehe. She is however, a serendipitous find one that has ultimately saved Dean's life for without her upcoming Ordeal, both Dean and Jason would surely already be Enlightened! Everything for a reason is my motto.
I glad you explained the concept of each stage of 'becoming' from initiate to adept and...well we all know the final stage is death by consumption. Dean's soul would surely be the most righteous.....nom...nom.
Dean truly has a very strongly ingrained character, stubborn and loyal to a fault and this translates so well in his continued 'ego' lapses, especially towards his beloved Impala. It would have felt wrong had there been no disquieting thought process one way or another.
Loved the covert rescue it was thrilling and very visual in its deployment. Well done for saving Dean....now the hard slog of recovery I think. I'm so ecstatic that John is one of Dean's rescuers.
Oh my...Dean is definitely filet mignon to a pishacha. Om nom nom, indeed! ;) Luckily for Dean there was a van with his name on it, instead. Whew!
Yep...again, I had INTENDED for Dean to be unphased by anything...the amulet, the Impala...but I still could NOT let him get in that car and feel the motor beneath him and have him NOT feel something. There's just no way. It's bad enough that he was about to go through with the sale. I wonder what would have happened had it been a genuine prospective buyer. Huh...I wonder what Dean would have done when he signed the bill of sale. I think his head might have exploded. LOL. Again...thank god for the rescue! :)
Thanks so much (I sound like broken record, but I really, REALLY mean it)!
This is super! Loved your description of John coming down the alley; couldn't have been anyone else. I could really picture him. (And about time he showed up, the bastard.)
I'm thinking of The Deprogrammer by The Bobs. Haven't heard it in a long time, so I can't remember all the words, but the line "we are the light of a beautiful world" keeps going through my head. I'll have to find the CD.
