Wedding Stuffs...

Ok so...Peter & I will be getting married much sooner than we had planned. And NO it's not due to a whoopsie in the pregnancy dept (I'm def NOT pregnant); I know that's what people immediately assume. Peter feels it would be more practical in terms of Health Insurance, living together, and his terrible fear of public speaking. He wants a really ( Read more... )

I don't think one has to wait decades to be married (far from it -- hell, after a while, it's shit or get off the pot, right?). As long as you're being cautious this time, aware that rushing too too fast is bad and confident that this is a good, solid, smart, right thing to do, it's all good. :)

And you're totally right about that there, "we're all so terrified of commitment and the potential of divorce we want to just never take the chance of living in order not to get hurt." I feel like I should frame that and hang it on the wall, or something.

That said... um, you'd better be moving on the details of this quick-quick, if you're doing it in two months (and please please let me know what I need to do when I have enough time left to do it :) ).

Also... I hope you schedule this for a Sunday. Otherwise, I may have issues getting the time off and getting there (though I'll certainly try like hell).

I will do my utmost best m'dear, as I only have 3 bridesmaids, you being one of them :) My MOH Brianna, you, and my SIL. That's IT, so no worries, you're on the top of the list :) And thank you for being understanding. I wasn't trying to be bitchy-defensive, it's just I've been down this road before in lots of areas of my life, and I know by now how people tend to react; particuraly to ME about this stuff :-P ( ... )

Aw, thanks! And yeah, I totally know how some of that feels. I'm 32 already, after all. Tick-tock, life's a'wastin', y'know?

Sounds lovely!

And don't worry about the timing; if it's right, it's right! Patrick and I had known each other a good 9 YEARS before we started dating. Once we started, it was less than four MONTHS before we got engaged. The only reasons we waited nine months from engagement to actual wedding was to give us time to plan, and wait for my then-overseas MOH to come back to this continent. :)

And I was 33 when we got married.
