Typical disclaimer…this is me babbling incessantly about the show as I watch.
THIS WILL MAKE ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE UNLESS YOU HAVE SEEN THE EPISODE
Um, there will be squee ahead about the costuming? I absolutely loved the 40s clothes and hairstyles. Also I have actually only seen this once on the original air so I might be reversing a couple of times to go back and look at stuff.
Hey look at me doing this the day after it airs. Dude, I rock.
Dude I ended up with a widescreen copy of the episode…sweeeeet.
So the skating rink looks a bit like the ice staking rink I grew up going to and this amused the hell out of me.
Danny Glover!! Whee! Dude I love that they got him to guest on this!!
Seriously this is such a small town thing…the roller rink being the center of town.
Ooo creepy cop is creepy.
Hahaha I love that he knows it’s a fake badge. FTW Charlie!
Oh no! Charlie!
Nice overview of Boston.
Modest much, Nate?
*giggles* Irish neat.
*giggles harder* Dusseldorf-yeah it’s not really funny but the word is funny.
And now you’ve hooked Nate.
Hahaha Oregon!
*snorts* Nate picks up both his whiskey and the coffee.
Hang on…gotta reverse…I believe the picture of “Charlie” was Hardison…but I keep missing it. Yes yes it is. Makes sense since Hardison-well Aldis-plays him in the flashbacks.
I like the way this guy draws Nate in…especially with what happens later.
Hello, Sophie wearing leather pants.
Oh and they’ve got a new toy! I love it!
Shallow moment-Eliot’s hair looks really pretty.
And I like that they’re letting him be “smart”. Asking him for the finders’ fee and referring to his former line of work.
Parker and Hardison on protection detail. And being so adorable together. And aaww she gives him a tissue.
Hee hee Eliot playing with the video while Hardison’s talking.
“Not. No. Not a toy!”
“What? He’s telling me to learn technological stuff all the time.”
“That’ll never happen.”
Parker grabbing Hardison’s hand-aaww and Charlie agrees to talk to Parker. *smishes her*
“Just. Listen.”
LOL Eliot as the gas man *giggles* LOL
And the mold inspector is out back.
I like how they keep running into people Eliot knows.
“Barbie leave that in her dream house?”
And Eliot STILL kicks his ass!
The look on his face at “old art”. And the smile.
Charlie was such a cute kid :-)
I like the accents they have in the flashbacks-Hardison and Parker. And Parker’s hair is just…gorgeous. She can really work the 40s look.
ROTFL-his French is awesome!
I like the way they fall in love…although I did see it coming…even before they started the flashbacks. But still a sweet story.
Ooo brass knuckles.
Never bring knuckles to a gun fight.
That was nice of the sheriff to step in. And then give Charlie “advice”.
*snorts* Rat’s tail. That was just…amusing. I liked it.
Yes because joining the military is just the way to go.
I love how unobtrusive they are-everyone apparently knows that they’re in love or at least friends…despite them thinking they’re so subtle.
Eliot! In uniform! (well yes, I know not really, but you get the idea).
Good SHOT, Charlie!
I like the way the LT says nice shot there…but *growls at what comes later*
*is sad* Dorothy died.
LT put the other guy in for a medal because Charlie is black…not really a surprise. It’s sad the way things were in that time period. It’s hard to tell if the LT feels bad about it or not. It’s like he knows that’s the way it is and he’s not going to buck the system. (Nice work by Aldis on the emotion after he walked out of the tent.)
And there’s the painting. Well now we know how Charlie got it.
I’m not sure how Cecelia became the daughter’s aunt…but it works for the flashbacks.
Charlie!
Hahaha the phone call. Hardison and the accents! He’s so cute.
Sophie searching the desk and the key!
Aw telling Parker she’s doing a good job.
Heehee Eliot securing the perimeter.
And they make the plan to run away. Of course it’s not going to end well. :-(
“My French. It’s still terrible.”
“I know.”
Interesting that Nate and Sophie are together in the past or well that they’re past characters are. Oh you know what I mean.
Sophie and Hardison as FDIC inspectors! Hee
Broke ass bank *snorts*
Oh Eliot…you need to answer the phone better.
“Or we can split this fee and walk away with 5 million each. What do you say?”
“You should have paid me, Randall.”
I love Sophie and Hardison not reacting to the fight noises in their ears! Or well sorta not reacting.
Ya know for someone running away…she picked a bright ass coat.
I’m still trying to figure out how they got the suitcase in…
That was a nice, smooth little switch.
Uh-oh, busted.
I really, REALLY don’t like this guy. The father.
Go Charlie! I like him standing up to him though.
Oh Sheriff, you are a bad man! You do not rule the town! And yet, this shows how things were in those days so so much.
The grenade! That was awesome!
Oh, Dorothy.
Go Sheriff!
I feel really bad for them here. She has a point though. A very valid point. But wow, Beth just knocked it out of the park. Not as much today, but yesterday on first view, the emotion in the scene just absolutely got to me. Total kudos to her. It was a fabulous scene and fabulously played.
And seriously…I was actually able to separate Dorothy and Parker which a lot of times on these “flashback” shows I’m not…but Beth’s acting and the costuming…yeah they totally sold it. (And Aldis’s for Hardison and Charlie too. Not so much for the others-but they were more minor characters in my mind.)
Aaaww Parker, poor sweetie.
There’s money in the safe deposit box. Of course there is.
Nate figured out where the painting is. And Eliot takes the Wurlitzer apart…ya know I had a feeling the painting was somewhere in the roller rink, but I didn’t actually cotton on to it being in the Wurlitzer. (And yes I had to pause it to get the correct spelling but now I kinda want to write it over and over again. Wurlitzer, Wurlitzer, Wurlitzer…I’m also totally googling it to see if it’s a real word.)
The Wurlitzer is an actual organ made by the Rudolph Wurlitzer Company, you can find more information at the link.
You would think it would be a bit more…fragile…
Of course our client is a bad guy!
Ha! I love it! Eliot hits them with the pipe! Totally awesome!
I still did not see Nate making the switch.
And it kinda makes it even better that they walk away and leave the guy kneeling on the floor.
“She made you a promise that she would keep the Van Gogh safe and that’s what she did.” *tear* That’s devotion for ya.
“You can’t possibly know that’s the real story.”
“No but that’s the best story.”
I love the boys ‘handshake’. And then Hardison sneezes and Eliot hands him a box of tissues!
“There’s one thing I want to tell you. Don’t waste time.”
And she looks at Hardison and he smiles. And she walks towards him and takes his hand…aaawww. *happy sigh*
Yeah totally don’t count on me ever being this good again. I’m totally procrastinating doing something else.
Also preview for next week… “Potato?”
Sorry couldn’t resist. *giggles insanely*
