Thanks to everyone who encouraged me to get my Creative Writing assignment done. While I can type about 102 words per minute, I am not a fast writer; I'm too much of a prefectionist. Also, the final wasn't something I could just pull out of my butt (there were uncooperative guidelines), so, yeah. I didn't sleep for 23 and half hours, lolz..

LOL if the yaoi/yuri category was taken out, I suppose that would happen. XD Ahaha, I'm so picky about NaruSasu fics I like, sometimes I feel like a nitpicker with my idea of IC-ness. >_> I think I read Duty Before Honor, although not The Window. Maybe I should go read them again; KakaSaku was the first pairing I actively liked when I popped into the Naruto fandom, although I shifted from that to NaruSasu/NaruSaku and now I'm just more of an any-ship-works-for-me;-yay-for-gen(!!!) person. XD
WWII AU? Oh man. :DDD History spazzing is awesome! I tend to read more about the American Civil War, but WWII is also pretty awesome and interesting.
Ohhh, I'd like to read your essay. Especially with your mention of having Shisui. (We haven't even had a panel of him yet, whut? :/)

lol, seriously. Last year I had to pull teeth to find yaoi/yuri submissions, so I figured it would probably be a similar situation this year. Wrong XD. Like, I get where the interest in NaruSasu comes from, but it just... never did anything for me D: I think it may have something to do with liking both boys paired with Sakura XD. IC-ness has a lot to do with it though; when I first got into Naruto I looked into NaruSasu and was appalled by some of the characterizations, so....
Personally, I enjoyed The Window a lot more than Duty Before Honor (though that was a great fic!). It's just... SilverShine has the best opening chapters that I've come across for fanfiction XD. It's funny and dramatic and just overall awesomeness. I highly ( ... )

Yuri's much harder to find, I haven't read very many at all. :/ But seriously, Sakura should totally have the love! ;) *nods* I agree, when I was in my initial NaruSasu-reading phase, I just felt a lot of the characterizations were... well, OOC, and I think that's what dampened my interest in the pairing. I mean, I still read it, but nowadays what I really like is Team 7 friendship love. :D Romance isn't necessary to make the love more "meaningful"--as if romance were somehow better than friendship in the first place. It's all on the same importance level for emotional bonds, they're just different types of equally important things. :)

Team 7 friendship love is just... love =D. And I'm in total agreement with you on the Romance vs. Friendship. Maybe more author's write the "romance" bit because... it can be twice as wangsty? That and porn. There's always the porn....
When you get the time, totally look it up; I was so intrigued by the first chapter I had to read it all the way through (well, up to what chapters she had at the time; it's finished now though) XD.
Mm, that's a good point. I can't remember the last time I read a rather characterization-plausible SasuSaku.... Huh. I have a few crack pairings that make me 0_o. I'm convince-able, but...
