For the most part things have been pretty mundane here lately, not much going on. Today things changed up a bit but definitely not in a good way. I was going with my mom to the post office to mail out an international package for someone on pkmncollectors when....a lady rear-ended my mom's car ( Read more... )

Why is your insurance covering it? Didn't you get their insurance information? It's their fault, they should cover it!! Generally you give their info to your insurance and they handle everything. They should cover it and give you EXTRA money for your trouble, too. And cover your Mom getting her neck checked out.
To hell with his rates going up, it's not your fault or problem.

I t-boned someone and it was decided to be my fault. My insurance covered both cars damage and gave the other party I forget how much money (usually it's to shut them up/not sue) they got extra but it must of been over $1000 because they had nowhere near as much damage as my car and the total they got was WAY over the cost of my repairs.

I have accident forgiveness tho (and I have Progressive. You get it for staying with them for so long) and my rates didn't to up.

Still bitter about that. She was turning and stopped and started going straight at the last second. This is why I always wait until someone is completely turned in before I go now.

The light hard just turned green and we (and whoever was in front of us) started to get moving and she rammed into us. I guess that means she was going way faster than she was supposed to? I really don't know wtf she did.

I really didn't know about this at all, I guess i'll have to remember that for when i'm driving on my own. :c

That really sucks, people do that in our neighborhood at times. There was a car flipped over on the side of the road in our neighborhood last week!

We've never been in an accident before so I didn't really know what the other insurance company would do. I though they might just give us a harder time because its not our own insurance. It was some company I never heard of before as well, Safe Co.?

We are covered by Nationwide, they will cover my mom if she chooses to go to someone about her neck.

I didn't know at all about the extra money thing though. :c

I'm sorry this happened to you, it was obviously her fault if the husband was trying to pay you off. Glad you guys didn't take his low ball offer. Some people can be real insensitive jerks...:\

Oh my goodness, that's terrible - and how infuriating that the lady's husband tried to pay the two of you off! That certainly doesn't say much about his character, does it. It p!sses me off so much when people are preoccupied with their phones, etc while driving....you'd think people would get the message at some point to just.not.do.it.

I'm so sorry about your mother's neck, as well...I do hope it feels better soon. :(
