[There's no denying the last week was a wreck. An enlightening, somewhat entertaining wreck, but still a wreck. Still, in light of all that's happened, there are some agreements that don't feel right to go through with anymore.]

Jack, it's Ginia. About tonight--[FILTER BROKEN]

"I could be gone the next day. So could he."
"So I'm failing to see the real problem here beyond mutual fear."
"Either way... someone needs to take the plunge."
"I don't want to mess this up. With him."
Ginia is quiet as she looks at him, the conversations of the day and all the events of last week running through her mind. There was something there, right? It wasn't all fabricated and fake? Their conversation Thursday had been confirmation enough.
Still, she steps in slowly and reaches up to rest a hand on his cheek, still watching him before she leans in and kisses him.
There's the thing about taking the plunge. You never know the temperature of the water until you've already splashed into it.]

But...the experiment was over. Things were supposed to go back to normal. Whatever normal was between them, that was...what they were supposed to be now.
Ginia kissing him was supposed to be the domain of experiments and oddities and strange costumes. But then there was Thursday, that Thursday where everything was normal and so very strange...
He hesitates for far too many seconds because this isn't supposed to happen, this love and this nearness, isn't something he deserves. Isn't something he's ever come to expect again. But then Giles rests a hand on her waist and returns the kiss. Hesitation be damned.
Whatever they have, it's nice, and he's tired of questioning it.]

Elation, relief, love, there's so much in the following seconds. She doesn't deepen or change the kiss anyway, she wants to keep this slow and careful, but she treasures every moment. This isn't because of outside forces twisting around the situation or their emotions to fit a story. This is them, this is now, when everything is normal.
Her hands move off his face to rest on his shoulder, she takes a tiny step in closer.]

But she takes a tiny step nearer, and he lets her, and he moves his other hand to rest lightly against the back of her head. And for a while, things just...are. They just are, and he savors it.]

Whatever it is now, it's nice and she likes it.]

[The words tangle and die in his throat. Even now. So Giles just wraps his arms around her and hugs her fiercely. Actions have to speak louder than words.]

Ginia sighs against him, smiles and savors the moment.]

Yes. They shall.
It's a quiet walk to the Battle Dome. Quiet, but very happy. Ginia holds onto his hand as she walks with him, happy to enjoy the nice moment with him. What they are exactly has yet to be defined, but maybe this isn't the sort of thing that needs any kind of definition. It's very nice, it's very comfortable, and it feels quite right. Why question that?
She only speaks when they reach the Battle Dome, hand still holding onto his.]

I feel utterly safe with you.

/If this works, and I hope it does, it should take care of one of our biggest problems. I mean, I'd still need to learn how to play bass, but this solves things. Also opens up new possibilities on what we can do./

[The last command is put into the panel and Ginia locks it down with a satisfied grin. She walks over to Giles' side and wraps her arm around his.]
/Ready to check this out?/

[He won't lie and say he isn't nervous, but...its just music. What's the worst that can happen?
...better get on with leading, Ginia.]
