[Audio/Action]
[Good morning, Luceti.

Do you like rock music? If you do, great. If you don't, too bad.

After finding out about Derek's departure from Luceti, Ginia heads over to Cloud Nine. No, she doesn't care if there may be people there, she'll be claiming the piano for herself and running through all the rock songs she knows. Some Bon Jovi, Read more... )

[By Living on a Prayer's first chorus, you might hear someone softly singing along over the journal, Ginia. Ororo's got a decent voice: a smooth, almost sultry alto and it's not unpleasant to listen to.]

It's the truth. Take it from another who plays, though nowhere near your level. [But all right, all right. She'll stop. Though her humility makes Ororo smile.]

Still, I have to say, your selection of songs earlier surprised me. Cloud Nine did not seem to have much music the likes of Bon Jovi and Aerosmith when I last stopped by.

You also play piano? I'd love to hear sometime if you didn't mind.

It's true, Cloud Nine tends to lean more toward classical, jazz, or blues. Some friends and myself were actually thinking about starting up a rock band to bring a new genre to Cloud Nine.

I do, though I can't say I have classic rock in my repertoire of songs. [smiling a little here.] Blues, some jazz and quite a few classical pieces are what I am more familiar with; I wouldn't mind playing some for you some day.

We need more blues and jazz around here. I love classical as well, but we're a little heavy on that side. Understandable with Frederic here.

[Ororo's played for audiences before - the kids at the mansion, sometimes for the Professor when he asks her to play... but on-stage? At a nightclub? For strangers?]

[She'll smile sheepishly in the journal camera, unsure.]

I don't know that I could perform on a stage... That would be a first, for me.

Oh, I didn't mean it as you had to perform. It'd be nice if you wanted to, but I was making a general comment. It'd be nice to hear jazz or blues from someone other than myself.

[Yes, there was Derek, but he's gone now.]

[Ororo thinks she might reconsider one day; it does sound like fun. And it's not as if there's a lot else for her to do around here.]

I can imagine. You can't be the only one providing that kind of music - I seem to recall there being others who play the same...? [She doesn't know about Derek :(]

There are others, yes. Giles is great on the guitar and sings as well. Derek as well, but he was sent home this morning.

[Her first instinct is to say that that's a good thing; no one should have to be trapped here.]

[But the tone of Ginia's voice clues her in. Oh.]

I'm sorry to hear that. It's always difficult when a friend is sent home.

[Ginia would agree that it's best some people are sent home, but not Derek. Not with what she knows now.

It takes a bit before she writes back.]

It is. We can... only hope for the best.

Have you been here for long?

A little over two months. [not necessarily true, since this is her second time here in luceti, but.] It still feels as though I would wake up any moment and discover that this is all a bizarre dream.

We came in on the same cycle then.

I feel that as well. That one day I'll wake up and it'll all have ended and life will return to normal. Sometimes I also think I don't want to wake up.

That's true. For all its shortcomings, Luceti does seem to have a certain charm to it. [Though 'shortcomings' is putting it very mildly.]

It'd be a peaceful and quite pleasant village if it weren't for the forced imprisonment, experiments, kidnappings, and drafts.

And despite the fact that we are all essentially prisoners, the residents are quite nice in general. It's a strange situation.
