I really like this idea. It makes a lot of sense, really, and I wouldn't be surprised if this is how it is supposed to be.

Well, I like it, but I seriously doubt they're going to go for that kind of angst. I could be pleasantly surprised, though.

That was wonderfully eloquent and thought out. The whole scenario fits together really well, and would completely be valid for cannon... I'd totally vote for your version.
It's a nice change to see his parents as young and trapped rather than the usual professional, accomplished and distant types.

OH wow! That is a great point. You thought this out well! I really agree with what you say, and if his parents died before his frist degree, he more then likely forced himself into his studies even more; I think he has more then one degree.

Hopefully TPTB will really dive deep into his relationship with his sister, but I know a lot of us fans who have ideas about his relationship with her are going to be ... um... saddened, maybe when we see the ep.

He probably has 4-- a Bachelor's, a Master's, and two PhDs (somewhere on the show he says he has two PhDs, so that's canon).

Oh, I'm sure we'll be somewhat disappointed that they didn't go where we went. Hopefully, they'll go somewhere just as good.
