Oh my... it's absolutely lovely ! they shared so much, pain, love, hearts, memories. You broke my heart in a good way.
The end make me forget to breathe.

Need a sequel, it's so intense.

Thanks a lot, you're amazing honey !

I love the sharpness and poignancy of the "memorium" - Elizabeth, Carson, Ford, Grodin - and then the breathless uncertainty of the ending.

I'd love to see the "other side" of this story - what's happening around Jennifer while John and Rodney are sort of talking in code about what they wish their relationship could be. Is she having doubts, or is she blissfully unaware that she and Rodney are wrong for each other?

Thank you so much! I have to admit, I hate to think about Jennifer at the end of this fic, because as much as I dislike McKeller, I'm not sure she deserves to be left at the altar. So while it was for the best for everyone that they didn't get married, I wouldn't blame Jennifer for ripping Rodney a new one. *G*

Not a McKeller fan by any stretch of the imagination, but yeah... I think she would be justifiably wrathful. (Wrathful, not Wraithful) And there would be some serious ripples through the Atlantis environment, since Rodney wouldn't be able to explain the real reason why, at least not without getting John in some serious trouble. People would take sides, and wow, it would be messy. But you know, that stuff really happens - happened to a friend of mine, in fact - she called off her wedding the night before. It was a "Thank Goodness she did" kind of situation, but she took flak for it for a long time because most people didn't know the circumstances.

And then the mean side of me wants Jennifer to get what's coming to her after her behavior in "Brain Storm". Insert multiple frowny faces here.

LOL! My beta had the same reaction as your mean side...who care about Keller after the way she acted in Brain Storm? But for me, that's one of those unresolved things at the end of this fic that doesn't make this a totally happy ending...hopeful but not necessarily happy. Because, just like with your friend, real life doesn't always have nice endings wrapped up in a bow. Yes, it was probably the best for everyone in the end, but that doesn't mean there won't be ramifications.

Oh, ouch. While I agree exactly with John's viewpoint on Jennifer-and-Rodney here, and I really like their recognition that this is the sort of day they miss their lost friends the most ... poor Jennifer ....

you right, the mckeller make me angry , she love a certain idea of Rodney, but it's not the true rodney, only John know the true Rodney with his fears, hopes...

Thanks! And, yes, I agree about poor Jennifer. As much as I dislike the whole McKeller mess, I wouldn't blame her for punching Rodney in the face for waiting until their wedding day to get his act together and realizing they weren't meant to be. So while I'm happy for John and Rodney, I do feel sorry for Keller.

Thank you very much! The thing for me with the ending was I stopped it right where I did because I wanted it to have a hopeful ending without a "they live happily ever after" ending, because they don't get that, at least not yet. Rodney still has to break things off with Jennifer, which I'm sure will not be a pleasant scene. It could also be years before they finally get to do more and wait and John and Rodney get to ride off into the sunset together (although I firmly believe they will, eventually, do just that. *G*)

Thanks so much! I'm afraid their happy ending sequel is a few years in the future, but I also fimly believe they'll get it. *G*
