I've now read this and it was fantastic. As a reader of far too many SW novels, it was great fun to have all that old familiar technobabble (and that old familiar climactic moment with lightning bolts and becoming one with the force and teh angst). For something that's supposed to be fluff, it's got a lot of meat. I can totally see John turning to the dark side that way and Rodney being just that sort of Jedi. And them finding each other, of course.
