2017 was a very busy RL year for me - mostly for family reasons and mostly for good ones at that, but crazy busy. So here are my fannish accomplishments of the last 12 months:
Interesting patterns on AO3 indeed. I have 316 kudos (kudoses? I have received kudos 316 times) on a silly, borderline crack piece I wrote in the Chuck fandom, where I wrote two stories without ever meaning (both crossovers, one an SG-1) crossover. I feel like AO3 has more shorter stories, and more appreciation for short and silly stories.
I'm really glad that AO3 gave me a place to stash my fic when I stopped paying for my own site, and it's lovely that I still get comments and kudos on things I wrote ages ago. I just haven't felt the fanfic bug much in a while.
I do read still and have Quantum Soup on my list!
I'm very impressed at all the recommendations and the fic you continue to write. Thank you!
Silly fluff and chaptered fic seem to be the biggest favorites - and by "chaptered," I mean stories posted over the course of days (or weeks) to whet the appetite. I prefer stories in one long happy read, on my Kindle (the other BEST thing about AO3 - the easily downloadable format!)
I think what I miss most about LJ is the lively give-and-take. Remember the canon vs fanon series? There's room for meta at AO3 but I feel there's little point in posting it there, because the discussion in the comments was always the best part.
I have accounts at all three sites, but still prefer LJ. I don't get notices from the other two sites and haven't logged into them in months. Will you still be posting SG fic-a-tons here because I'm ready to join in again? Stargate is showing on an American cable network and I'm falling in love with the show even more,
Thank you for all that you are doing to keep the fandom alive. I really appreciate the amount of work you have put into it and the enthusiasm you bring. Stargate is still fun and I hope that we can keep it going for a long time to come. You have been and are instrumental in that and I thank you so much!
My only reason for joining LJ was for SG-1 in the first place, and what's left of the fandom seems to have pretty much moved to DW, so...
Yes, there are still ficathons going on. In fact, the Quantum Mirror Alphabet Soup is still short multiple letters. So if you're interested in jumping back into writing, you could try your hand at A or G or K or L or V, go for it. :)
Like you, I hope SG-1 fandom will be around for along time to come.

Thanks for sticking around, in any case. :)
