Five ways it ended happily for Daniel JacksonsidljJune 24 2007, 21:08:11 UTC
1. He never unburied the Abydos Stargate, and he and Sha’re and their six children prospered under Kasuf’s, and then Skaara’s benevolent leadership.
2. SG-1 found Sha’re, kidnapped her and took her to the Tok’ra to have her symbiote removed. Then Daniel took her home to her father so that she could recover in familiar surroundings. After six months on Abydos they moved to Earth, and Sha’re blossomed and grew in her new surroundings. Jack taught her to love ice hockey, and her children turned her into an exotic soccer mom. Life was good.
3. Vala reconciled with Tomin, Sam reconciled with Pete, Teal’c constantly reconciled with Ishta. Cam won the hand of his high school sweetheart. Daniel took up fishing

1. After the Goa'uld, the Replicators, the Ori and finally the Wraith were defeated, Daniel's department at the SGC ballooned into a huge, multi-layered conglomerate renamed the Cultural Studies Department. Daniel was still the head of the department, encompassing Archaeology, Anthropology, Linguistics, and Interxenocultural Studies, but he was able to delegate the administrative duties to a great degree so that he could still spend time doing the things he enjoyed. Apparently saving the world a few times came with perks, finally, after all

#1: ”Ooh... There's Dr. Jackson.”
”Daniel.”
”Whatever. Isn't he just...”
”He's married.”
”Oh.” *pouts* ”I thought he was a single dad.”
”Nope. Married to some foreigner. Sarah... Sharra... something. She's been here a few times. Definitely not from around here. Kate Feretti knows them. Told me once that Daniel's saved his wife from some bad people in some exotic place. Took her back here, where they had little Thomas. She says he works with her husband - up at the mountain.”
”Really? That's strange. I thought he was a doctor of Archeology.”
”I think he is. But you know... there's a lot of weird stuff going on under the mountain.”
”Absolutely.”
#2: ”Daaniel...”
”What, Jack?”
”Come look at this.”
”Yes, very nice, it's a black hole.”
”Daniel...”
”Jack?”
”Daaniel...?”
”Jack!”
”I'm bored.”
”You're ascended! You've got all the powers of an ascended - how can you be bored?”
”I can't use any of those powers. Now, if I could buzz Carter every now and again, or haunt the SGC, sure. But I can't. And you're always busy doing

Heh, I like that in #1 it could actually be either Sha're (or Sha'uri) or Sarah Gardiner, although I guess that in 'took her back there,' 'there' is meant to be Abydos. But I like things with double readings.
Hooray for snarky ascended!JackandDaniel and Heliopolis and more Grunt and Flyboy. :-)

Thank you!
The only way I could see Jack being happy as ascended would be with Daniel. And I mean with Daniel ;-)
Yeah, I got kinda fond of Grunt and Flyboy. Oh, and yes, I was thinking of Sha're in the first one in a "wonder what would happen if Sha're didn't get goa'ulded - or at least didn't die."

#5: ”Mmm... This is life!”
”You've said that, oh... five times after the trial.”
”Five times?”
”Five times, Jack. Once, when you got out of that courtroom and into my car. Once, when you got home, fell into your couch and turned on the TV. Once, when you... when we... well, bed. Once, when you got into your car. And now, sitting on your pier with a fishing-pole in one hand and a cold beer in the other.”
”And you, Daniel, and you.”
”Right. Overlooked that.”
”You would. Say, how did you get Thor and the rest of them on board for the defence?”
”Come on. Thor loves you. And the rest of them... Well, for one thing, the treaties they have with Earth were mostly based on... us. And they're advanced enough to see the utter stupidity in making laws about who people can love

I've always loved the idea that all the forces of their offworld and SGC allies would rally behind them to keep them from getting into trouble because of that stooopid rule. And they didn't leave anyone else behind, either. Nice. :-)
Re: Five ways it ended happily for Daniel Jackson, part 2dhae_knightJune 29 2007, 05:29:38 UTC
Thank you, yes. I agree. Because I really can't see Thor being as friendly with Earth without either Jack or Daniel. And it's pretty much the same with everyone else. The Nox... Lya admits Daniel is more advanced. The Ascended... Daniel's been ascended, and Jack survived having the ancient database downloaded.
And once their allies were made aware of it, I think they'd weigh our stupidity against our potential - and here Jack and Daniel would already have convinced them that we're worth a little work. :-D
