You always have the greatest food posts. Are those all varieties of carrot? At first glance I thought it was two varieties of potato around the orange carrots, but when I looked closer I thought they might all be carrots. In either case, that's amazing. Don't know about the taste, but those are both great looking veggies and excellent photos regardless of subject.

Thanks, buddy. Yeah, those are ALL carrots in the first photo. From left to right, amarillos (the yellow ones), St Valery's (the orange ones) and cosmic purples (the purple ones). They all taste pretty much the same, but the amarillos are my favorites. They're very crisp and have an INTENSE carrot flavor. We get a lot of our heirloom veggie seeds from these folks in Petaluma. http://rareseeds.com/petaluma-seed-bank

It's been a labor of love. The last of the tomatoes are getting ripe. So soon we'll be tearing everything out of the raised beds and planting for the fall/winter. We've already planted broccoli, Brussel sprouts and cauliflower. We'll add spinach, Swiss chard, carrots and lettuces....stuff that should grow through most of the winter here.
