I know you said no more James Patterson, but his early Women's Murder Club novels are excellent (they take a hit mid-series, but the last several have been better). It takes a certain kind of author to write a successful novella. It's harder than writing a novel, I think.

I appreciate the rec! I imagine it'll stay pretty low on my list with all the other books that I have on it already, though. I do agree with you that writing a novella is a skill!

I'm really partial to the series so I hope you do give it a shot eventually. No problem. The series is quite old at this point, so when you do decide to pick it up, the first ones should be readily available.

It's sad, Swayze dying so young. It was quite a shock when he made the diagnosis public.
