I've only just barely finished one book since the year started. 🤣

Ugh, this BS debit card fraud is out of control. I can't even tell you how many times this has happened to me either. On the bright side, my bank has always had the funds in my account in less than 48 hours.

You'll get there! :)

UGH. Well, I checked today and the bogus charges were removed and it says my new credit card is on the way. It's especially frustrating because I rarely use my credit card. My KU subscription comes out automatically, and then occasionally I use it for a food delivery. No idea how on earth it can even get compromised.

Thanks. :D

That's good that the charges have been removed. I wish I knew how it happened, too. One morning, I got up and saw that there had been something like 25 charges to DoorDash on my debit card. I've never used DD nor did I even have an account. The lady at the bank says it happens a LOT, which is depressing.

Oh wow, that's scary. I think the weirdest part of this one is that the charges (5 of them) were for $15 each. If you're going to do this, why not go big? Weirdos.

Good start to reading through the year! I like the sound of the Howard brothers' book - I may have to add that to my want-to-read list. It's so nice to hear they had wonderful parents who actually looked after them!

Oh yuck to the credit card fraud thing. We had $1000 buying something in Ireland a couple of years ago - like we'd be buying something that expensive from so far away! The bank was great though, and although we had to get a new card, they continue to be great; always checking in if something seems dodgy or whatever.

Yeah, it's less a Hollywood actor story and more a story about family. I really enjoyed it.

I checked today and my bank has reversed the bogus charges and it says my new credit card is on the way. The woman I spoke to this time was pretty brusque, but I also had a one hour wait on the phone so I'm sure she was just run ragged with all the calls. I've been with the bank itself since I got my first job at age 16 so I'm happy with them!

I'm not sure if he made it, or someone else, but I remember seeing a documentary or interview of him where he talks about his childhood. His parents did a great job raising him and his brother. And I remember seeing his father in a couple of things.

It seems like their parents really did their best to provide the kids with a normal upbringing. His dad was in a lot of their stuff too. It's weird because when I was at my sister's place over Christmas I watched an The Andy Griffith Show episode that Ron specifically mentioned his dad was in, but I didn't know at the time. Will have to pay better attention next time that ep is on!
