Ice Ice, Baby

So the polar vortex wasn't enough. We had to get hit with an ICE STORM! Two days of freezing rain and ice pellets left a huuuge build-up of ice on the ground. I mean, it was literally a skating rink. Kids were skating in their driveways. One of our local reporters put on skates and skated up and down the sidewalk during his report! The big storm ( Read more... )

Ice storms are the worst. Glad you're able to stay inside this weekend and relax.

That Stephen King book sounds really random even for him. Was there a point to it? And the price of books today is ludicrous. Every Christmas my dad picks up some sappy Christmas themed romance novel for all the women in the family. I glanced at the price on the back of the book and all I could think was "I hope you got this on discount". I usually just get things that are on bargain on Kindle, or if I want to pay full price I'll go to the independent bookstore down the street, but $13.99 for a novella is pretty insane. I wonder if you could pick up "The Stand" for the same price and split the difference on the page count.

Interesting thoughts on the bullet journal. As long as you're writing in it, I say use or make whatever layout you want. I've actually used my planner for more than 3 days this year, so I feel like I've done well. (Of course, right at the moment, I'm so frigging far behind on prompts that it isn't even funny.)

Absolutely no point. It realllly felt like a cash grab, though King is such a bajillionaire that I doubt that was the motivation. I do almost all of my shopping for the Kindle as well. I'll pay full price for things that look phenomenal, but I look for the sales and the Kindle Unlimited stuff as well.

I spent allllll day today redoing my bullet journal! I'm sooo happy with it now (still have a few more pages to make.) I feel like it does take a few iterations before I could figure out how I wanted to use it and what I wanted it to look like. (And of course, sorry, I know you have one as we've discussed before.)

We've had similar icy conditions. Luckily no power outages, though. Stay warm and dry!

We had a power outage in my neighbourhood... but luckily I wasn't home when it happened. Score!
