Book Review: The Priests of Ancient Egypt

I managed to get a copy of The Priests of Ancient Egypt by Serge Sauneron, and I finally got around to reading it. This book is considered a staple for Kemetics in many circles, and it doesn’t disappoint. This book goes far more in-depth into the priesthood of AE than almost any other book that I have read so far.

I would agree. I am guessing that there isn't more information to be had at the moment. Hopefully, in the future, there will be a more comprehensive book that we can all read :3 The topic is so interesting to me- I'd love to learn even more about it.

As far as I can remember, besides a few lists of names with Priest titles from earlier periods, that's all we really have on the priesthood from AE. And that the position changed from that of appointed by the King to passed down in families (I think this was during the Later periods).
