Drivers, please take note

Hey, I know I have trope meme answers to work on and I'll get to them shortly. I just wanted to post this whilst it's still on my mind.

Anyone reading this who drives: Please, please spare a thought for cyclists as you travel about.

Last night, I was heading home from work. 11:30 at night, there's usually no traffic at all. I often joke that I can ( Read more... )

Oh hey :D

Yeah, I was about to send you a message the other day because I couldn't comment on your entry and then I got called into work and forgot. I noticed you were talking about Clifton as the main shopping centre (glad you noticed the sci-fi store btw) I take it you found Cabot Circus in the end. Did you get the chance to see Cribbs Causeway? It's a little out of Bristol - about 45mins bus ride - but lots to do.
I've been working in Clifton since May, in the little Co-op next to the library. Good eateries up that way, but Ana and I prefer restaurants nearer the waterfront.
Let me know, if you're in Bristol again soon and I'll give you the off-the-beaten-track list of things to do/places to go/eat in Bristol.
(Did you get to see any of the Brisfest festivities?)

Went to Cabot Circus on my last day, wasn't particularly impressed; I actually liked Clifton better. (Or was that the road leading up to Clifton? I'm fuzzy on the neighbourhood borders.)

I think I saw that co-op from the bus! (I was on Line 1 a lot, going up to Wills Hall on Perry's Lane, up off Westbury Road.)

I walked the waterfront quite a bit, but at least the area I was at, nothing looked particularly enticing. It... was a whole lot of stuff I consider too heavy or overcooked or... there are Reasons I ended up at Wagamama, and at the sushi place at Cabot Circus.

Didn't go out to Cribbs Causeway; I didn't have all that much free time (Saturday afternoon and all of Sunday), and the zoo was really up on my priority list.

I probably won't be in Bristol again. Next year this con is in Germany. But, well. There may always be another con.

Yeah, Clifton is a nicer area. The student quarter is more accommodating towards academic types. There's a lot more evidence of culture in Clifton (Although you have to wander further afield if you're looking for Banksy pieces ( ... )
