Athene is one of my favorite Greek Goddesses. There is a devotional to Her coming out from Neos Alexandria, if you are interested, it is here Athena Devotional.
They also have a page about Athena and Artemis you may be interested in: Athena and Artemis. You also may like David Kinsley's work as he was an expert in Hindu Mythology and he has at least two books with Durga in them.

lolz, I do have a growing collection of Diane Stein's books (her works on reiki and energy balancing are particularly impressive) but whenever I need some inspiration, I always turn to the WSB. And whilst I know there is a new edition available, I still prefer to work with my slightly tatty but much loved older edition. I keep it in pride of place next to my BOS. Definitely worth a read if you like to connect with Goddess on a personal level.
Athena, I originally associated with her older Libyan roots. She doesn't talk to me as much now that I have dedicated myself to Durga but She is still there. She and Artemis have taught me a great deal and I continue to honour them both.
Thanks for the book recs, I will have that written down for future reference.

Don't be disappointed if you're not as far along at the end of the year as you would have liked. You'll get there because you're wanting to find out and you're taking the time to do it.
I look forward to seeing your findings as you learn them. :D
