The first time Baekhyun kisses Zitao it’s up against the dressing room wall and they’re several bottles of soju into the night nearing the line between happy and passed out. The two of them together is electric, even though both of them are so eager to please each other neither one actually takes control. They just let it happen, Baekhyun getting fingers into Zitao’s hair, Zitao licking around the pendent turning warm against Baekhyun’s skin.

Baekhyun had meant to say congratulations, had repeated the tones over and over exactly as Luhan had taught him, but catching sight of Zitao standing in his costume, hair still a bit wet with sweat, eyes a little puffy from crying, had made his mind suddenly blank.

Language has always been a barrier, maybe it always will be, but kissing doesn’t need words. Everyone understands kissing. And okay, so maybe it doesn’t always mean congratulations, but Zitao responds anyway, enthusiastically, and Baekhyun decides what he had meant to say doesn’t matter anymore
