The fic that I am looking for is one where William Ellison for some reason has Blair kidnapped as a child for Jim. William knows what he is doing is wrong but doesn't care because it's for Jim's benefit. I seem to remember that Naomi was desperately searching for her son and at some point finds him, but doesn't get anywhere when she finds him... ( Read more... )

Do you remember if it's gen or slash, Marns?

Honestly I can't - I read pretty much everything and anything.

There's a slash one by Angelique - The Littlest Guide - that has Blair kidnapped by William

Nope, that's not it - I do know that it was just a one off, not a series. But thank you for reminding me of that one - I am going to have to reread it. :)

Hey girlie! Long time no see!

There's a story that's in some ways sounds similar but in other ways not. On the chance that you might be mixing two stories, try As Fate Has Willed by Monica. It's gen. It has William kidnapping Blair as a toddler because a nefarious anthro professor tells him about sentinels and guides and they know that Blair is a guide. (But this isn't a "sentinels and guides are known universe, it's just that the anthro guy knows about them). But in this one Steven has died. William tells Jim that Blair's an orphan and raises Blair as his son and is very kind and loving to him.

Hey, yeah it's been a while.. but I am back - yet again - and reading and writing Sentinel stuff.

And that is exactly the one I was looking for - thank you so much! You are as always, awesome with the steel trap memory (mine is rusting away more and more lately).

Yay on both accounts--that you are back with us in TS and that it's the story you are looking for! It's not so much I've got a steel-trap mind as that it's a story I've re-read so it stuck with me. It's an unusual premise; William is essentially a decent man who does a horrible thing because of his love for his child.

Happy reading and welcome back!
