I know the SGA story. I read it after reading the Sentinel one, I remember being struck by the similarity. In both these fandoms there is the possibility for a fic like that.

Every scene you mention above is in the SGA one... similiar I can see - but direct copy? Maybe you should read the SGA one again and then you might remember the differences in the Sentinel version to help with the search.

Fading Skies was my first thought as well. I can't think of a Sentinel fic that matches. Have you tried the fanfic disability list?

Can you explain what you're looking for when you say bonding fic? Since GDP has bonding that is very specific, even though it also has power differentials, what are you specifically looking for? And are you looking for gen or slash?

This is a set of recs for your bonding reques. They're gen, technically but could be read as pre-slash. I like the top set by Arnie. I can't speak to the rest as I haven't read them all. They're set in the GDP universe, only without the GDP. So Guides aren't slaves. (Like I said, I only can speak to the top author). But they do have the sentinel clan that's set up, with Jim as the Senior Prime. They're all bonding fics. I'm very partial to "The Wrong Guide" and "One Good Turn". I think they read a little like Kiera.
