Missing Mom...

Nov 11, 2003 21:12

I finally worked up the courage to post something in momlessdaughter, which I joined sometime ago. I don't have it on my friends list because it affects me too much to read it every day, but I do stop in from time to time.

(what I posted)

An excerpt - Some October thoughts... )

radio, avalon, gareth, remembering, writing, mom, kids

That was lovely writing.

Your love and exasperated affection shine through.

Thanks so much. Coming from someone who actually writes stories, I truly appreciate it.

Awww, that is so nice.

Seriously, speaking as one who is far from an expert ::g::, you have an excellent grasp of storytelling. If you ever felt like it, I think you would do a great job at writing stories.

Thanks very much. There are so many people in that community for whom the pain of losing someone is very fresh, and I wanted to let them know that it does become bearable.

So, missy, when will you write your first fanfiction? Huh Huh Huh?

*pokes the fishie lovingly*

You always have such interesting life experiences to relate to us. I could see you drawing from those experiences to write an evocative piece in whatever universe you pick.

Consider it. The story could touch someone you have never met as your words here touch us.

Your reply moved me to tears. Thank you. I’m touched you think I might be capable of such a thing; however, I’m afraid when it comes to fiction, I have a dearth of story ideas at this point. I’m not sure how my life experiences could apply to anything I’m a fan of, but if I do get an idea, you can be sure I’ll give it a try.

Thanks for sharing Leeanne. It just goes to show you that if you don't decide to keep cutting up squid...that you can be a writer and publish some cool amazing talented stuff. I really miss Mom and the contributions we could be making in each others lives.

And how many great writers are yet unknown because they toil in silence, bound by duty and sacrifice and filial concerns, no time to put pen to paper and ink to thoughts...

Keep writing, dear.
