I said you'd be fine with the test :-)

:-) You did, and so I was. It was the irrational portion of my brain that had me so tied up with nerves that I couldn't eat. Stupid lizard brain.

See! Told you you'd do it!

Congratulations on passing the driving test (like there was any doubt), and congratulations on getting that job as well. What a great week for you!

By the way, thank you for my lovely socks which were waiting for me when I got home tonight. What a great surprise! They fit perfectly, and I will be posting a photo soon to show them off to everyone!

It has been a good week, hasn't it? I'm still adjusting to Mum being gone and it feels weirder than I thought it would, but I think that starting a job will help a lot.

I'm so glad that the socks got there and that they fit :-) You definitely need to post a photo so that I can see how they look.

Making socks has turned out to be so much fun that I've bought a book on the subject so that I can make even more!

Heheheh, you're officially hooked now, you have a book ;-)

Socks have to be the most portable knitting ever, especially once you've got the basic pattern down pat and don't need to cart that with you any more.

Congrats on passing your test, and that's great about the job too. But how on earth can they expect anyone to survive on two weeks holiday a year?

I think the US (don't know about Canada) gets more public holidays than we do. Although I doubt it comes to an extra 15 days, and I've no idea what happens in Canada.

The other problem I'm aware of with US leave is that, frequently, you have to take sick days as leave: there's no statuary 10 days of sick-leave. Again, dunno how that'll work in Canada.

In fact, he just had me drive around the block and then passed me. No manoeuvres, nothing difficult, just a quick trip out and we were done.

Blimey! You lucky thing. *hugs* Congratulations once more. :D

Congratulations on getting your licence!

Also... I have never understood why the USA (and Canada, as I now know!) only have 2 weeks of holidays. That's insane; people need more of a break than that!
