Autumnal Nuremberg

Nuremberg is only 60 kilometres away from my hometown, so while I was there often, I never took pictures. (The curse of being blase about one's neighbourhood.) However, yesterday I was armed with my camera, and it was a very beautiful autumn day.

Lovely pictures! Have only been once to Nürnberg, it's a bit far for me but I enjoyed it immensely!
And weirdly, I hadn't seen Dürer's house! Weird.

I hadn't seen it before, either, despite countless Nürnberg visits. This time I decided it was high time!

Oddly, the castle reminds me of Nottingham - not the architecture, because in Nottingham the original castle was destroyed during the Civil War and the present building is late 17th century. But the rock looks similar (is it red sandstone?), and maybe the fact that you'd just mentioned the number of tunnels in the city...

(RIII, because he spent time in the original Nottingham castle.)

Yes, it's red sandstone, which is a local specialty. I think the name Noricum refers to it.

It was your description of the Agnes tour that made me realize I had never visited the Dürer house, so thak you!
