Fannish5 and Remix

fannish5: Name 5 characters you like but that you wouldn't hire to work with you.

Only five? Is that a joke? Most fictional people I adore tend to be NOT the kind of people I'd work with, or for. But fine. Here are five of many.

1.) Arvin Sloane (Alias). My beloved Mr. S. is actually super competent, be it at heading a good guy spy organisation, a bad ( Read more... )

Love the comments about Sloane! And, sadly, agree with you about Wesley. (Oddly, I might actually hire Lilah Morgan, though it would certainly depend on "to do what"?)

Also, you're evil because you've now made me intrigued with the Third Doctor!

*icon depicts Third Doctor and boss of same, aka the Brig, in closet, literally, as are hiding from bad guys and arguing*

If you want to know more about Three and friends, I wrote a post in praise.

Lilah Morgan: you have a point. Proven loyality record to her organisation of choice even among her-life-threatening circumstances, and ability to work with people she dislikes...

...and just because I still think of Alias as The Arvin Sloane Show doesn't mean I'm suicidal. :)

She was a good employee from Holland Manners' point of view, as I recall. Sure, she beheaded a few people, but they shouldn't have fucked with her!

Ahem.

Thanks for the link.

She did decapitate one of her bosses, but that was a response to gross incompetence as well as personal charmlessness, and she got permission from higher up first.

A wonderful summary. I agree with all of them (apart from Alias, which I really must watch some day)

Max Eilerson particularly!

Now working with the Brigadier would be a pleasure, but the Doctor....

The Brigadier would make a "Five People I'd Work With" list any time. :)

Alias, for the most part, is fun. I enjoyed and was partly intrigued by the first season, started to love the show in the second, was happy enough with how my favourite characters got good scenes to forgive the quite troubled third and rejoiced at the fourth, which to my mind was the best written one, without the earlier drawbacks but with the virtues. The fifth season, otoh, did have some good stuff but also some not so good, and anyway felt redundant; in my mind, the fourth season finale is the true conclusion.

Don't know Ellerson but definitely agree with the rest. I'd suggest Michael Westen (Burn Notice) as another non-employee.

I don't know Burn Notice or Michael Westen, so that evens it it out. *g*

If you feel a need to employ Michael Westen, though, you may not be in a position to be picky. :)

Well, I'd pick the Doctor to work with if I had a planet to save, I guess, as the results would make the working conditions worthwhile. Otherwise... yeah. And I never thought about it before, but you're right. I wouldn't trust him to babysit my cats. I shudder to think of the things that not only might but probably would happen to them, whatever the Doctor's good intentions. :)

It's not that the cats would necessarily end up as zombies, which would always happen if you entrusted them to Jack Harkness, but it's one of several possibilities, the others of which involving body take-overs (especially if the Master is involved), traumatizing encounters with dogs and aliens, resettlement on New New Earth, or the cat deciding she'll never forgive you for inflicting the Doctor on her and just plain leaving.

LOL, I am so with you on Wesley and Arvin, but Toby? He'd be a HILARIOUS office grouch. I would so want to work with him (but NOT under him) just so I could listen to him grumble.
