State Fair Redux

Okay, my friends, here goes a quick *wave-hello* and some more photos from the State Fair. Work is good, but I come home tired and without energy for anything creative or--you know: productive. Not really getting into much of an improving groove, YET. I'll get there. To be honest: the arthritis and its attendant pain have been romping rampant ( Read more... )

The Peg was the eatery I was trying to remember when we were looking for a place to eat together. I had a sit down meal there a few years back!

Wonderful photos! It's delightful to see the State Fair through another person's lens!

I hope your aches ease off ...

HUGS!

Ah, yes! Well, The Peg would have been aaallllllll the way up the street we were on; up a hill and through thick crowds. So, although the Peg would be a good place to eat together at the Fair NEXT YEAR, it wouldn't have been a good choice this year given the time constraints.

Thank you, very kindly, sir. I enjoy checking out other folks' photos too.

And . . . Thank you, again, for the easing of pain wishes. I hope so too. ;-}

WOW, that bell is 50 years old? :o :o :o

They always have some pretty cool displays in the Horticulture building. :)

That is a riot about you subbing for somebody's aunt and uncle. LOL.......

I hope your arthritis is feeling better soon.
I am feeling your pain, so to speak, as my pseudo gout is acting up in my left foot. UGH.....
Hugs, Jon

That's what we were told. 50 years of being re-planted every year. Quite a tradition. According to our friend who owns The Peg in the background, they see hundreds of people taking their photo with the Liberty Bell every year.

We always enjoy the Horticulture building.

Right? An absolute hoot! I just wish I knew the story behind it.

Thank you for your good wishes. And right back at you with hopes that your pseudo gout stops hurting. Good luck with that, my friend.

They have moved that bell in and out every year? :o :o :o
I am surprised it's still alive after all of that. :o

No. The Bell (the form for it) stays right where it is. I think they may wrap it in tarpaulins or some such. Each year new PLANTS are grown and then planted into the form so it looks great by State Fair time.

Love those floral kaleidoscopes! And fabulous big wheel light display!

Yeah, constantly battling pain doesn't half take it out of you. I hope there are good days in among the bad.

Aren't those kaleidoscopes MARVELOUS?! I love 'em. Whoever invented them is brilliant! I also love the light shows from several of the Midway rides. Don't much care about going on the rides, but enjoy watching.

Pain does drain one. Some days aren't too bad--occasionally just an ache here and there. Thank you for your kind good wishes for me.

Hi! How are you doing, my dear? Have you been digging your toes into the soil of your garden and letting Mother Earth cleanse away negativity lately?
