Long time, no fannish post! Recs, meme, yadda yadda

Nov 26, 2009 13:35

I am really not feeling the holidays at all yet this year, but maybe our old friend Santa Jake will help? *points to icon* In any case, happy Thanksgiving to those that celebrate!

Bunch of random crap today that no one will read since it's a holiday.

First, a meme from jlm121:

Leave me a comment saying "Resistance is Futile" (or whatever fandom- ( Read more... )

Hee, thanks re: the award! :-P And boo for having no time. I don't have all that much either lately, between one thing and another. Hope you get some time to yourself one of these days. *hugs*

Questions for you:

1. How would you describe your perfect meal (and who would cook it)?

2. If someone died and left you a million euros, what would you spend it on?

3. What's one book you would recommend to anyone?

4. If you had to choose: poetry, fiction or nonfiction?

5. What's the best thing about being a mom?

We are getting our Christmas tree this weekend -- maybe that will get me in the mood finally? :-/

Questions for you:

1. If you could travel absolutely anywhere (assuming money and time are no object), where would you go tomorrow?

2. What's your favorite dessert?

3. If someone offered to write Ben/Michael fic for you, what would you request?

4. What's the best thing about where you live? (That can mean your country, your town, your house, however you feel like answering.)

5. Who was your first celebrity crush?

I do avoid Kirk/Spock and anything Mirror Verse

Are you like, trying to avoid me in the fandom or something? ;)

I have no idea how I missed Bottled Up, must be getting careless in my old age *sighs*. And I will never catch up with my reading, just never. Bought more books, too. IDEK.

Ok then. Resistance is futile.

Ahaha, it wasn't so long ago that I felt like we were following each other around the fandom! But dude, if I read Kirk/Spock in addition to everything else, I would never get off my laptop at all. There is way too much fic in the world, oof. *shakes fist at bigbang*

Questions for you:

1. If you could imagine the perfect Star Trek fic, one that hit all of your favorite kinks and desires and characters, what would it be like? (And if it already exists, link me! *g*)

2. Would you rather take public transportation or drive yourself?

3. What's your favorite vegetable?

4. What's the best thing about the QaF fandom?

5. What's a book you could read over and over again and never tire of?

I am gonna cheat a bit, since I don't feel like clogging my journal with the ever-boring mememe is the way to go. So I'll answer here:

1. If you could imagine the perfect Star Trek fic, one that hit all of your favorite kinks and desires and characters, what would it be like? (And if it already exists, link me! *g*)

The perfect Star Trek fic would be, of course, Star Trek meets the Administration Series; not quite a cross-over, not quite an AU, just a very well-done, plotty and rich dystopia with non-lifestyle bdsm (none of that masters, sirs and other ridiculousness :D). With a fine play between Kirk and Spock, and Uhura as SPOck's inestimable admin. Oh, and for it to be written by 1297.

2. Would you rather take public transportation or drive yourself?
Drive myself. I should be more eco-friendly, as we actually do have good public transport system here, but I love driving too much, and it only takes 10 min to get to work so maybe I am not killing the planet too much.

3. What's your favorite vegetable? Tomato. But "favourite" fails ( ... )

No worries, I try to keep memes to a minimum too. I enjoyed reading your answers.

Oh, and for it to be written by 1297.

Haha, I can definitely agree with that! She's amazing.

I totally know what you mean about comfort books -- I have several of those, both fanfic and old-fashioned paper-and-ink books. :-)
