I have a whole grip of Nick Cave songs on my iPod that I haven't really had a chance to listen to. I listened to the first five songs on one of the albums. I thought, this guys is creepy like WOAH. It doesn't surprise me at all that Leonard Cohen was your second choice. :)

I'd only heard one or two of his songs before this summer.
On a whim, I downloaded his discography, and since then he's become a favorite-favorite of mine. Some of his albums are really dark and creepy, others are just plain beautiful.

*sighs* I'm such a Leonard Cohen girl (and I'll take that as a compliment).
There were so many bands/artists I wanted to do this for - Nina Simone, Metallica, Keb'Mo, CCR, Rammstein - but when it came down to it, Nick Cave was the man for me.

You inspired me. I listened to The Murder Ballads today. It's awesome. I love the duets with PJ Harvey and Kylie Minogue. Who knew that Kylie Minogue could actually sing??

Awwwww, yay! I love that album dearly.

When I heard the female vocals on "Where the Wild Roses Grow", I was really, really impressed. When I looked up the credits for that song and saw "K. Minogue", I had a serious Cas-head-tilt-Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar? moment and developed some respect for that tiny lady and her pretty, smoky voice.
