Pairing: Sam/Gabriel, possible/vaguely implied past Lucifer/Gabriel (I'll leave it up to the reader).

I hesitated before reading it because of the warning, but the first lines got me hooked so I just had to read it through.
I feel a little bit like crying now but it was gorgeous so I'm glad I read it nonetheless.

I'm really tempted to write more of this; I'm going to see how Season 6 unfolds and go from there.

And I really want to punch Gabriel for being just one more in a long line of people in Sam's life, who told him that there's something wrong with him. He even went one step further than most other people and dumped him because of it.
(Also, I'm really annoyed with people bashing Sam for his decision not to tell Dean, especially since we only know a fraction of what's been going on in the last year.)

I can understand Gabriel's PoV; it's really a bad situation for everyone involved. If you read it as past Lucifer/Gabriel, his reaction is a lot more understandable, otherwise it's less an issue of being reminded of an ex and more an issue of being reminded of what it's like to be surrounded by the love of his family and his favorite brother.
(I'm annoyed with people bashing Sam, period, right now, even though I'm not too pleased with him at the moment. It's too early in the season to know what's going on with him, and what he's been going through, and I prefer to sit back and see what happens before making judgments).
