This is amazing and wonderfully brilliant!! First, the banner. I love love love that Lurky's "kitten" is a leopard cub! Then, the poem. Your poetry magnets really had the word "wanker" in them?! Wow. My favourite part was the verse about Spike's bluffing. Yes, let's talk about the posturing -- hide tells of weak human love indeed. The last two lines are next up as my favourites. Love the who/whom transition. And no, I don't think it was confusing.

Awww, thank you so much! :))))

The poetry magnets don't have words like "him" (so I pieced it together from parts of "hideous" and "mirror"), but they do have "wanker". Priorities. :)

In my head, the leopard cub represents Spike's vampire "soul" or "essence". Whatever animates a soulless vampire. That's what Lurky wants to eat if Spike loses. And the kitten is Spike's old human soul, which Lurky found/summoned, so that's technically what Lurky is contributing to the kitty basket. Maybe now you see what I mean about confusing, haha. Anyway, I'm happy that you enjoyed the leopard kitten poker! :)

Oh, alright! I didn't think the banner was confusing simply because I wasn't seeing the symbolism in the kittens, so thanks for explaining. I thought the leopard cub was Lurky's buy-in and the white kitten Spike's. But them representing Spike's demon essence versus his soul adds a nice extra layer to the whole thing. Now I also see why you went for that particular kitten! It really is a bit William-like.

I love this so much I cannot describe it
I want to
spurn the nourishment in your fridge
and devour the words
and
finding myself insatiable for the texture of them
read them again
