Titles: Five of Cups, Queen of Wands

Notes: I did a Tarot reading based on Buffy's questions to Tara at the end of "Dead Things" (Why do I let Spike do those things to me? etc.), and the plan was I'd then make a Spuffy version of each card in the spread. I only managed to make two pieces of artwork, ( Read more... )

So interesting! There are so many layers of meaning to this, it's a challenge to navigate.

Ooh, so this was the visual thing you were working on! I've never been big on any kinds of actual claims to see the future, but the rich symbolism of Tarot has always interested me. I enjoyed reading through the comments and getting a little more context on the meanings of the cards. Also the links to other BtVS tarot works were awesome ( ... )

That banner would have been beautiful even without knowing all the symbolism which I read in the comments - It's a gorgeous piece - Buffy on the river flow and paths of life. This is so strongly connected to how she experienced her life in the series you've created a wonderful visual both as a series visual and as the Tarot depiction.

Thanks to all for the informative and interesting comments - I know zero of Tarot Symbolism.
