Good to see you've discovered the pleasures of making artwork. It's fun, isn't it!

The first one is very nice -- Buffy looks effulgent indeed. I'm only not so sure about the dark line cutting the second Spike's face in half.

The second one is my favourite. It has beautiful colours, fuzzy hearts and fuzzy kittens! And most of all, it has Buffy actually looking happy while together with Spike -- that must have taken some very good timing for the screencaps! I wouldn't have believed "happy and romantic" and S6 could ever go together, but you pulled it off!

Haha, happy Buffy was a feat of screencap timing for sure! *g* I replayed that 1-minute scene at the start of "Dead Things" SO MANY times. :D I'm glad and a little surprised the colors work for you.

I really love these, particularly the colours of the first as the blue really sets a beautiful tone to it. I really like that you picked up the green in the text as it gives some extra balance to the whole too. :D

Thank you very much for the detailed comment! ^^ I know where the line came from (and you're right, it is the edge of a layer) -- in this case, it was poor judgement more than really not knowing how to remove it. I could have deleted that part of the layer with the eraser tool -- BUT I do also want to figure out layer masks now that you and Double Dutchess have mentioned them. ^^ And you're so right about textures -- I noticed the texture made it much easier to join the images in the second banner.

The art challenges on BF look like a lot of fun, and I'm sure they're an awesome learning opportunity. I'm not sure how much time I'm ready to spend on this, though. Anyway, thank you for all the advice and encouragement! <3

Well don't feel you have to join with any regularity, participating as and when you are able/inclined is also readily encouraged. :D It's great to see someone just jumping in and trying it. I'd love to see more of your pieces and hope you feel inspired again in the not too distant. :)

(Layer masks are fantastic because you can always change your mind and put back in anything you removed, nothing is permanently erased).

Aw, thanks! I'm wondering if I could combine the current banner/icon meme challenge with Buffy Femslash Secret Santa (which happens on tumblr and I've already signed up). Say, is it important that the challenge artwork not be posted elsewhere before it's posted in the thread? What if I made one set of stuff that's femslashy and also challengey, and posted it on tumblr and BF on the same day...? (Are you the right person to ask?)
