You sure are perceptive! No, he doesn't work for NASA but has several friends who do...he's an engineer in Houston, so everyone's sorta connected. I also chose NASA stuff because I figured it would be something Andrew would be into in terms of helping out with rescuing Slayers in remote parts, and it's sort of supposed to be a nod to poor Spike in space with bugs in the comics...which just seems silly to me (but I don't know the whole back story to that). Plus, there was the whole convo on shapinglight's journal about temperature and vamps and cold so I had to find a way for Spike to stay warmish.
